Cona Ophthalmology “doubles”. Starting from Monday 15 January, the ophthalmology day surgery in block 3B0 is fully operational, alongside the ophthalmology emergency outpatient department, with 10 beds and 4 dedicated seats (the previous allocation was 4 beds).
This will allow 22 operations to be carried out per day: 12 outpatient cataract operations and 10 day surgeries. The new organization of ophthalmology day surgery will allow broader and more structured care of users for scheduled complex cataract, glaucoma and vitreoretinal surgery operations. All this also thanks to the presence of staff dedicated to specialized healthcare and specially trained on eye care patients.
The expansion, completed in recent days, also includes a waiting room to host and welcome any family members and caregivers accompanying patients undergoing scheduled surgery.

I am very happy with the support offered to our Operating Unit which will now be able to treat both patients coming from the province and the region more promptly, reducing the waiting lists for the treatment of complex retinal pathologies”.
