The Spanish reference selective loses 10,000 points and marks a decline at the start of today’s session. The Ibex 35 has been at the limit of 10,000 points for days and doubts about the macro data do not help an index that has just recorded a double-digit increase in 2023.
Yesterday we had confirmation of what was already expected, that is The German economy suffered a decline in 2023. Specifically, its GDP decreased by -0.3% following 2 quarters in which the main Eurozone country entered recession. Although the market already knew that the German economy was in a delicate situation, this type of data does not provide certainty to the market and investors lose confidence. Moreover, Holzmann (member of the ECB) said yesterday that he does not expect any rate cuts this yearalthough it must be said that this is one of the members with a more restrictive vision.
At corporate level within Ibex, Grifols (GRF.ES) is the one that rises the most today with a revaluation of around 2%. and settling above €9.1 per share. On the other hand, we see Solaria (SLR.ES) falling by more than 2.5% and the banks with pronounced declines, in particular Banco de Sabadell (SAT.ES) and Bankinter (BKT.ES).
