The 33es The Olympic Games were officially launched last night in Paris.

7 years of preparation, 100 years of waiting, Paris and all of France have taken up the Olympic challenge. The traditional parade of delegations began at 7:30 p.m. French time, or 8:30 p.m. Malagasy time. As tradition dictates, Greece opened the parade on the Seine. At 9:05 p.m. French time, 10:05 p.m. in Madagascar, the boat of the seven Malagasy including 4 athletes and 3 officials made their appearance. The two flag bearers, Rosina Randafiarison and Fabio Rakotoarimanana were alongside the swimmer, Jonathan Raharvel and the judoka Laura Rasoanaivo. 3 officials also participated in the parade, namely Herley Ambinintsoarivelo, president of the Malagasy Table Tennis Federation; Dominique Raherison, president of the Malagasy Athletics Federation; Jean-Aimé Ravalison, head of mission of the delegation. For the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the opening ceremony was held outside a stadium. With songs, dances, light shows, water jets and fireworks shows, France pulled out all the stops while selling French excellence.
