OpenAI and Apple announce collaboration to integrate ChatGPT into their devices

MEXICO CITY (apro).- Apple announced the introduction of Apple Intelligence this Monday, June 10, through which its users will have access to an artificial intelligence (AI) system for Apple products, such as iPhone, iPad and Mac, in collaboration with the company OpenAI, later in the year.

Apple Intelligence will be deeply integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, so it can be used through Siri, and users will be able to understand and create languages ​​and images in a wide variety of styles and perform different actions through different applications without having to switch from one to another.

OpenAI announced that GPT-4o will be integrated into new system-wide writing tools. According to Apple, its users will be able to rewrite, correct, and summarize text almost anywhere they write, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps, in addition to notifications.

Apple Intelligence promises to improve the effectiveness of its users’ communication by making available different versions of what is written; adjust the tone to suit the audience and the task for which the writing is required; You will also be able to make corrections to users’ texts; as well as summaries of the texts in different formats, such as paragraphs or lists, among others.

Both companies assured that privacy protections are built into accessing ChatGPT within Siri and writing tools, as OpenAI allegedly does not store requests and users’ IP addresses are supposedly hidden.

Users will also be able to connect their ChatGPT account, so their data preferences will be applied according to that company’s policies.
