The inhabitants of the Los Potreríos hamlet in San Lorenzo, Ahuachapán Norte, are already using a new hydraulic concrete street, a work that has put an end to the inconveniences of traveling on dirt roads, especially in the rainy season or summer.
This project covers nearly a kilometer of pavement that will significantly improve the quality of life of more than 350 residents.

The “improvement of street to Los Potreríos hamlet” project not only includes 936 linear meters of hydraulic concrete, but also various complementary works such as 467 linear meters of curb curb, more than 23 meters of trapezoidal ditch, dissipating steps and more than 50 square meters of retaining wall to protect the road.
In addition, two speed bumps have been built that will guarantee the durability of the street against climatic adversities.
This work has not only solved one of the main road problems in San Lorenzo, but has also generated employment for local inhabitants, thus fulfilling the presidential mandate of promoting community development and the labor inclusion of men and women in the area.
The impact of these road improvements is not limited to San Lorenzo. The DOM is also carrying out similar projects in the departmental capital, El Refugio and Tacuba. In El Refugio, since December 3, 2022, the inhabitants already have a renovated municipal park, evidencing the government’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens.

With the National Pothole Plan, the DOM is executing several projects at the departmental level, benefiting, among others, the inhabitants of the departmental capital, Atiquizaya, El Refugio, Turín and San Francisco Menéndez.
These initiatives allow communities to enjoy modern and safe streets, improving connectivity and mobility throughout the region.
This joint effort is a clear example of how improving road infrastructure can transform the lives of rural communities, promoting development and progress in El Salvador, but, above all, that money is enough when no one steals.
