New Delhi: Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer said that everyone is looking forward to seeing captain KL Rahul’s performance in the upcoming season.

In the 2023 season of IPL, the LSG captain suffered an injury in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). While chasing a ball in the outfield in the second over, he caught it on his thigh and then limped off the field. After this, Rahul could not play the remaining matches of IPL 2023.
Speaking in a virtual press conference, Langer said that the LSG captain has worked very hard to make a comeback in the T20 tournament. Langer said that it would be great to have KL Rahul in the team.
“Everyone is looking forward to seeing him. We know he’s worked very hard to complete all his return-to-play protocols. He’s worked very hard. He’s been practicing, he’s hitting a lot of balls. Hopefully he is ready to go. It will be good to have the captain with us,” Langer was quoted as saying by the ICC.
The Australian coach said that some players will have their eyes on the upcoming T20 World Cup spots and will be rewarded if their team achieves success.
“If we get success in the team, everyone will be rewarded. That will be a message to all the players including Bishi (Ravi Bishnoi) and KL (Rahul), and there are some others who will compete for T20 World Cup spots. It’s all part of the game we play. The more they focus on playing well for Lucknow, the better their chances of getting selected,” he said.
The 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup, which will take place from June 1 to 29, will be the biggest ICC event ever with 55 matches to be played across nine cities – three in the United States and six in the West Indies.
