On August 30 and 31, the engines will roar in Loja with the Provincial Rally – DIARIO CRÓNICA

The event was launched on August 21st.

The 5th round of the National Rally Championship and the Second Regional Championship of the South will be held in Loja on August 30 and 31, as part of the celebrations for the Federalism holidays. To date, more than 50 drivers and co-drivers from provinces such as Guayas, El Oro, Azuay, Pichincha, Zamora, Tungurahua and Loja will make their engines roar, since they have already confirmed their participation.

Rally

The motorsport event will begin on Wednesday, August 28, with administrative and technical inspections by local crews. The following day, the vehicles will undergo a technical inspection at the LojaCar workshops to ensure compliance with the requirements. On Wednesday, participants will be able to carry out reconnaissances of the tracks in the city of Loja, while on Thursday, the reconnaissances will be carried out in the surrounding cantons and parishes.

On Friday, August 30, starting at 2:30 p.m., the qualifying round will take place at the National University of Loja stadium. This year, the race will be on a double track, without the pursuit mode, using the athletics track and external areas of the stadium. Afterwards, the vehicles will make a tour of the city center until returning to the starting point.

At 18:00, the vehicles will be equipped with lights to begin a controlled section towards the El Panecillo sector and, from there, a speed special towards the upper part of El Carmen, ending in front of the Liceo school, after travelling approximately 8 km in a night section. They will then make a controlled link along the road to Cuenca, with a timed section of 10 km from Zalapa to Motupe. At the end of this day, the vehicles will go to the National University of Loja, where they will undergo mechanical checks before remaining in a closed park until the following day.

On Saturday, August 31, at 07:48, the first vehicle will set off on a controlled junction from the National University to El Carmen in Malacatos, for a 20 km speed special. After a brief technical assistance, the teams will face a second 14 km special from La Era to Santa Rita, culminating on the road to Gonzanamá. They will then travel a timed section of 11 km from Valle Hermoso to Guayabal, and continue on a junction to the La Moringa track, in the San Pedro sector. This year, the section from the old toll booth in Catamayo to the road to Cuenca will be resumed, and they will return to the National University of Loja for the power stagewhich will repeat the initial route of the competition.

After completing this agenda, the awards ceremony will take place, scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
