Prize money starts for gold medalists in Paris – Will be extended to the other two podium places in Los Angeles in 2028
The decision to give cash prizes to the winners of medals in Olympic Games received by the world federation athletics (IAAF).
According to the BBC, the athletics federation is the first international federation to award cash prizes, with the gold ones Olympians in the Paris next summer to they receive $50,000.
