OIC called on Armenia to fulfill its obligations – 2024-08-21 17:50:32 – 2024-08-21 17:50:33

In the Final Communiqué adopted on the results of the 15th Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Republic of Gambia, it was noted that Azerbaijan’s restoration of its sovereignty in all territories was welcomed.

Publika.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan released information about this.

In the communique, support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on mutual recognition of each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, was expressed, and Armenia was called on to fulfill its obligations in this direction.

In the communiqué, it was also reflected that the name of the “Contact Group on the aggression of the Republic of Armenia against the Republic of Azerbaijan” of the OIC was changed to “The Contact Group on the elimination of the consequences of the aggression of the Republic of Armenia against the Republic of Azerbaijan”, and Armenia was once again condemned for the destruction of examples of Islamic heritage.

During the past conflict, the fate of Azerbaijanis who were expelled from the territories of present-day Armenia caused concern, and in this direction, support was expressed for their dignified return.
