Saleh Novruzi, deputy director Yadulla Balishov and director of the laboratory department Tahir Valiyev were caught red-handed as a result of search and operation measures conducted by the General Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General.
Publika.az reports that the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Health issued joint information on this.
It was noted that a criminal case has been initiated in the General Department under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
With operational-investigative measures, reasonable suspicions were established that individual citizens who applied to the institution where they worked in exchange for hygienic certification of imported and domestically produced products without taking samples for the purpose of examination and other similar illegal actions received large sums of money as bribes.
Documents and other evidence important to the case were discovered and taken away by the searches conducted in the service rooms of the mentioned officials and other addresses.
On the basis of preliminary evidence, Saleh Novruzi, Yadulla Balishov and Tahir Valiyev were arrested as suspects and charged under articles 311.3.1, 311.3.2, 311.3.3 (repeated and large bribery by a group of persons who colluded in advance) and 308.2 (resulting in severe consequences) of the Criminal Code. (abuse of official authority caused by abuse of power) was involved as an accused person, taking into account the age and health of all 3 persons, according to the court’s decision based on the motion of the investigative body, the presentation of the prosecutor who carried out the procedural management of the preliminary investigation, house arrest (main) and removal from office (additional) preventive measures have been selected.
