Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, known for their historic rivalry, announce a tour that will begin in 2024.
The legendary British band Oasis has officially announced its return to the stage after a fifteen-year hiatus. The news, which puts an end to years of speculation, comes after the reconciliation of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, who had become estranged following a backstage fight before a concert in 2009.
The announcement, which was made public on Tuesday via the band’s social media, has caused quite a stir among their fans. “It’s happening!” read the message along with a video that confirmed the rumours that had been circulating in recent days. “The guns have fallen silent, the stars have aligned and the long wait is over,” they added in a post that included an image of the Gallagher brothers.
The tour, titled Oasis Live ’25, will kick off on July 4, 2024 in Cardiff, Wales, and will continue in Manchesterthe band’s hometown, where they will perform four concerts. In addition, the band will perform at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London for four consecutive nights, and will take their show to Edinburgh and Dublin. According to the official statement, these will be the only concerts in Europa over the next year.
Tickets for the first shows will be available from August 31, and the band has revealed that there are plans to take the tour to other continents later in 2024, which promises to make this series of concerts one of the most important live events of the decade.
This return coincides with the 30th anniversary of the release of their first album, *Definitely Maybe*, released on August 29, 1994. In celebration, the band will also release previously unreleased versions of some of the songs from that iconic record.
Despite their success, Oasis’ history has been marked by the turbulent relationship between Liam and Noel. The fight that ended with the group’s split in 2009 was the climax of years of tension. However, both brothers have put their differences behind them, pointing out that this reunion is not the result of a “big revelation”, but of a “gradual realisation” that the time is right to return.
