NSSI stopped the mother’s disability pension that became her daughter’s donor –

The NSSI Medical Committee stopped paying off a disabled pension for the mother from Asenovgrad, who donated her liver to her daughter, bTV reported.

Initially, the territorial expert medical committee (TELC) delayed her decision to certify, but after television report in December last year, the Minister of Health Minister Dr. Galya Condeva intervened and TELK ruled for hours.

On Wednesday – February 12, Elka Chobanova received a letter from the NSSI in Plovdiv that they refused a pension. The medical committee, which appeals, does not agree with the percentage of reduced working capacity determined by the expert committee in Velingrad – 95%.

The complaint was signed by Dr. Dimo Yordanov Iskrev sent to the National Expert Medical Commission (NELC). Dr. Iskrev wants in whole or in part canceling those 95%, which are determined by TELK-Velingrad.

“The enclosed medical documents do not establish a disease condition that determines a percentage of reduced working capacity. TELK in Velingrad has evaluated a liver donation, which is not a disability for which to follow percentage of permanent working capacity, in accordance with the Ordinance on medical expertise”reads some of the NSSI position.

NELC promises to quickly consider the complaint and will come out with a decision on February 18th.

The woman hopes that the decision will be in her favor and to give her a disability pension of about 400-500 levs. She continues to look for work.

In March, they will be two years since Elka Chobanova has been half liver after her daughter’s transplantation and unemployed because no one wants to hire her.

For her daughter, Anita people from all over Bulgaria raised money and a successful life -saving transplant was carried out in Turkey.

“The state does not in any way support the people in a similar situation”the desperate mother commented. Elka Chobanova is considering bringing a case against the state.
