– The steep price reduction includes everyday products from our brands such as Änglamark and Xtra, as well as suppliers such as Toro, Nora, Farris, Lano, Santa Maria, Findus, Maarud and many others. In addition to price reductions there are regular offers and promotions, says chain director Håvard Jensen of Extra in a press release.
Jensen predicts the new year will mean lower purchase prices from off-price chain suppliers and promises to pass the savings on to customers. Therefore the expensive Pristak time transfer will be stopped and the prices of more than 150 everyday goods will be drastically reduced.
For over 150 items, including pasta, frozen fish, vegetables, jams and diapers, the average reduction is 7.5%.
Prices cannot rise, but only fall
– A gift package for us consumers, says food expert Odd Gisholt, to NTB.
– Many may find it difficult to start the new year after an expensive Christmas, while January is generally known for many things becoming more expensive. We are therefore happy to start the new year with good news, writes Rema 1000 on its website.
From 1 January 2024 until April the prices of over 1,000 items cannot increase, they can only be reduced.
It pushes prices
Kiwi communications director Kristine Arvin tells NTB that the chain has started the year by pushing prices on a number of goods.
– In addition to other measures such as the so-called price freeze concept, in the Norgesgruppen low price chain some goods have been reduced by more than 20% in prices.
