Muhammad Rian Ardianto I didn’t celebrate Eid al-Fitr this year with my family. The reason is, he has to perform at the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) or Asian Badminton Championships 2024.

The Eid al-Fitr celebration falls on April 10-11 2024. This date coincides with the BAC 2024 event which will be held in Ningbo, China on April 9-14 2024.

The 2024 All England champion certainly cannot avoid his duties at BAC 2024 because this is an important tournament. Apart from having points equivalent to the BWF World Tour Super 1000, BAC 2024 is also the closing event of the 2024 Paris Olympic qualification.

Rian, to be honest, is also experiencing a dilemma with the simultaneous schedule between BAC 2024 and Eid al-Fitr. Humanly speaking, the Bantul-born player wanted to gather with his family on this Muslim holiday.

“Yes, that’s definitely a dilemma too, of course I want to, especially since fasting and Eid, I still want to be at home with my family,” said Rian when met at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center.

However, Rian is also ready to carry out his responsibilities at BAC 2024 because this is the state’s duty. Later, after returning from China, he hopes to have the opportunity to meet his family.

“It’s just that this is one of the state’s duties, so we can’t do anything, so like it or not, we have to do it. Maybe after the match is over, we will also ask permission from the coach or the management to celebrate Eid at home first a few days after that. “We can come back here,” added Rian.
