Thunderstorms continued in many places in the North overnight, causing temperatures to drop slightly on July 10, with heat waves only appearing locally. In Hanoi, rain may return in the evening.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on the night of July 9, thunderstorms continued in the Northwest and Viet Bac regions with rainfall ranging from 15-30mm, locally over 80mm.
On July 10, the temperature in the North decreased slightly. Page Accuweather Hanoi is forecast to record the highest temperature of 34-35 degrees Celsius, heat waves appear at noon but will not last long.
Thunderstorms may return to Hanoi and the provinces and cities of the Northern Delta in the evening of July 10, but the amount will not be too large. The rain will help the temperature drop quickly, making the weather cool after a hot day.
By July 11, the heat wave increased again in the North, with many places experiencing intense heat above 37 degrees Celsius that lasted until July 13.
In the western mountainous areas from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa, the Central Highlands and the South, rain also appeared on the night of July 9 with an amount of 15-30mm, locally over 60mm.
Rain will concentrate in the late afternoon and night and last for many days to come. People should be on guard against flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas.

– Northeast: Thunderstorms in some places at night, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang have scattered thunderstorms, some places have heavy to very heavy rain. Sunny days, hot in the plains. Lowest temperature 26-29 degrees Celsius; highest 32-35 degrees Celsius, some places over 35 degrees Celsius.
– From Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue: Showers and thunderstorms at night in some places. Sunny day, hot in some places. Lowest temperature 25-28 degrees Celsius; highest 34-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius.
– From Da Nang to Binh Thuan: Showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, scattered thunderstorms in the western mountainous areas, locally heavy rain concentrated in the evening. Lowest temperature 24-27 degrees Celsius; highest in the north 34-36 degrees Celsius, in the south 32-35 degrees Celsius.
– Highlands: Showers and thunderstorms in some places, scattered thunderstorms in the evening, locally heavy rain. Lowest temperature 21-24 degrees Celsius; highest 28-31 degrees Celsius.
