Before returning to sunny weather for the holidays, the North will experience scattered thunderstorms on August 30. People should be on guard against the risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind that come with the rain.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on August 30, the North recorded a decrease in temperature after a series of hot days. Many places may experience thunderstorms concentrated in the evening and night, with the highest temperature in the range of 30-34 degrees Celsius.

The above situation will continue this weekend. During the National Day holiday, the weather in the North will be sunny and favorable for people to have fun and participate in outdoor activities.

In the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the heat wave continues and lasts for two days, August 30-31. The highest temperature is commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places above 37 degrees Celsius.

In the Central Highlands and the South, thunderstorms will occur with rainfall of 20-40mm, with some places experiencing heavy rain of over 90mm.

People should be on guard against thunderstorms that may include tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.
