According to forecasts of the China Central Meteorological Station, from December 13-16, a period of heavy snow and cold will reappear in the Eastern, Central and Northern regions of the country. In particular, many areas of heavy snowfall in the North and South of the Yellow River will coincide with the heavy snowfall on December 10, in some places the amount of snowfall will reach extreme levels with a sharp drop in temperature. Many provinces in Northern China, including the capital Beijing, Tianjin city and Hebei province, may experience snowstorms, with accumulated snowfall of up to 20-35 mm, with a thickness above 20 cm.

Along with heavy snowfall, a cold wave also hit most areas across China from December 14-16, causing temperatures to drop by 8-12℃, in some places by over 14℃.

Chinese meteorological experts warn that due to the high risk of snowstorms and low temperatures, localities in the country need to guard against adverse impacts on traffic, urban operations and agriculture. Previously, a cold wave swept through Northern China, causing many places, including Beijing, to receive the first snow of the year, affecting traffic.
