North Korean President supervised the multiple rocket launch test

North Korea’s KCNA news agency reported on April 26 that President Kim Jong-un supervised the test of a 240 mm multiple launch rocket produced by a newly established defense industry unit.

Theo KCNAthe test showed that the rocket meets the necessary standards in terms of flight characteristics and accuracy.

Mr. Kim said the 240 mm multiple launch system integrating new technology will “bring about a strategic change in enhancing the North Korean army’s artillery capabilities.”

The report did not provide further details about the manufacturer of the above mentioned weapons.

North Korea is said to be increasing the production of artillery shells in the context of the US and South Korea accusing the country of providing weapons to Russia. Both Pyongyang and Moscow deny this accusation.

In a separate report, KCNA said President Kim visited Kim Il Sung Military University to commemorate the founding of the revolutionary force that was the predecessor of the North Korean army.
