The North Korean Parliament approved a decree this Wednesday that breaks economic cooperation with South Korea, KCNA reports.
In particular, legislators canceled the law on bilateral cooperation and the law on a special international tourism zone in Kumgangsan, as well as bilateral agreements on economic cooperation. The decree was approved unanimously.
In mid-January, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called for reforming the country’s Constitution to define his southern neighbor as the “number 1 hostile country” and enact a commitment to “completely occupy” South Korean territory in the event of war between both nations.
In addition, Pyongyang decided to readjust all inter-Korean organizations created in order to improve relations and achieve the peaceful reunification of both nations. According to KCNA, the decision is due to the fact that currently “North-South relations have been completely established as those of two hostile and belligerent countries and no longer as those of compatriots.” With RT
