The electricity rent for a home in the Norgesnett catchment with an electricity consumption of 20,000 kWh per year will increase by up to 70%, depending on electricity consumption. Energy industry website Europower first reported the news. Norgesnett supplies electricity to 100,000 customers in the municipalities:
- The Isle of Ashes
- Fredrikstad (without Onsøy)
- Whales, Nesodden
- Smoking in Asker
- Unique slope
- Skiing in Nordre Follo
CEO Vidar Kristoffersen of Norgesnett announced the price increase before the end of the year.
– Therefore, we are now at a very low level, but we will adjust again very soon. It happens on February 1st or March 1st. Then there will be an increase of about 50%, Kristoffersen told Europower.
The reason is an expected increase in costs, Norgesnett reports on its website. However, according to energy industry website Europower, they had lower network fees than other network companies.
Prices are set on February 1st.
Grid rent is what you have to pay to get electricity delivered. The network rental is made up of several components: energy, power and fixed connection and supplement per kWh. Additionally, there are a number of fees. You pay the Enova tax of 1.25 øre per kWh, the consumption tax of 11.8875 øre per kWh and VAT at 25% per kWh.
But customers in the municipalities mentioned above are not the only ones to receive an increase in their internet fees this year. Nettavisen announced just at the end of the year that customers across the country will now receive an increase in their internet fees. Rising costs are one reason for this.
