Material
200 grams paneer, cut into small cubes
1 cup boiled and cooked noodles (Hakka or regular)
1/2 cup gram flour
2 tbsp rice flour
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
salt to taste
water for batter
oil for deep frying
For green chutney (optional):
1 cup fresh coriander
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1-2 green chillies (as per taste)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
salt to taste
Method
– Mix green coriander, mint, green chilli, lemon juice and salt in a blender. Mix until you get a smooth and vibrant green chutney. Set aside to serve as a fresh dip for pakodas.
– In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala and salt. Mix well and gradually add water to make a thick but smooth batter. The consistency should be such that it coats the back of the spoon easily.
– Take paneer pieces and wrap them in the prepared batter. Make sure each cube is coated evenly on all sides. Now, roll the batter-coated paneer cubes in the boiled and cooked noodles, pressing the noodles gently onto the paneer so that they stick.
– Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai on medium flame. When the oil is hot, carefully put the prepared noodles and paneer pakora in the oil. Fry them until they become golden brown and crisp from all sides. Remove with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess oil.
– Your Noodles Paneer Pakora is ready to serve! Place them on a plate and serve hot with optional green chutney. Watch your friends’ faces light up with joy when they eat these delicious and crunchy pakodas.
