State Minister for Finance and Awami League Finance and Planning Secretary Wasika Ayesha Khan said there is no alternative to automation to increase revenue. Currently everyone can submit returns online. Since the informal sector of Bangladesh is very large, tax collection from this sector is important. In this case, the private sector can help us.

State Minister for Finance Wasika Ayesha Khan said these things in the Chief Guest’s speech at a program titled “Necessary Framework for Increasing Internal Resource Development” organized by Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI) on Tuesday.

Prime Minister’s Economic Adviser Dr. Chairman of Revenue Board Abu Hena Rahmatul Munim and President of FBCCI Mahbubul Alam were present as special guests under the chairmanship of Masiur Rahman. The main article was presented by the Executive Director of PRI. Ahsan H. Mansoor. The program was conducted by the chairman of PRI. Zaidi Sattar.

The Minister of State for Finance said that besides the discussion on money market, private and government loans, there is a need to discuss more about the capital market. Everyone needs to work on how to bring more and better companies to the market. Then the pressure on the money market will reduce. It is important to increase the capital market, equity market and bond market.

He said that after the successful implementation of Digital Bangladesh under the transformative leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the current government is working tirelessly to build Smart Bangladesh. The country is now getting returns from the mega projects that have been implemented under his management in the last 15 years.

He said that the efficiency of budget implementation has increased due to IBUS management. Earlier, even if the budget was passed, it would take the first quarter of the financial year to start implementing the budget. At present, the offices are using the budget from July 1. The Minister of State for Finance assured that the suggestions that have emerged from today’s discussion program will be considered very seriously by the Ministry of Finance.
