Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said that no government can be formed in the center of Pakistan and in the provinces of Punjab and Balochistan without his party. He made this comment in a special interview given to the Pakistani media Geo News on Saturday (February 10).
Bilawal said that a government should be formed on the basis of national unity to bring political stability. I want an end to the politics of hatred and division.
In Pakistan, the former foreign minister said, after the polls, PPP is the only party that has representation in four provinces. Full results are yet to be released. However, it will not be possible to form government in Centre, Punjab and Balochistan without PPP.
He thanked the people of Pakistan for voting in large numbers. At the same time, he thanked the PPP supporters for having faith in the party’s leadership and candidates.
This politician said, I cannot accept old style politics. We want to bring political stability to our country.
The PPP chief said that the central executive committee of the party will take a decision on the formation of the next government after the final results are announced.
He said that political unity needs to be developed for the sake of the country. Because it will be difficult to solve the people’s crisis without solving the fundamental national issues of political instability.
Bilawal was a key ally of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led coalition government that ousted Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from power in 2022. In this election, his party did not get the necessary seats to form the government alone. As per the latest available data, his party has won 54 seats.
Bilawal said AIM is not in a position to make any announcement. The country is looking forward to the decision of the winning independent candidates.
Regarding the acceptability of the national elections, he said that he was not disappointed with the recent elections. But Lahore criticized his defeat.
