Nine Point Statement from the Mass Action to Defend Palestine

JAKARTA – Massa action to defend Palestine holding up a red card containing the names of children who were victims of the Palestinian-Israeli war in the Gaza Strip. Before raising the red card, the figures present at the action read a statement from the Indonesian People’s Alliance to Defend Palestine (ARI-BP).

Furthermore, the participants in the action shouted chants of ‘stop genocide’. Then, the whistle blew and they together turned on the flash light from their cellphones while holding up the red card.

The following is a statement from ARI-BP, which voiced nine important points in the action to defend Palestine, Sunday (9/6/2024).

The Indonesian People’s Alliance to Defend Palestine returns together with citizens of the world in general and the Indonesian people in particular, stating the following position:

1. We strongly condemn Zionist Israel for its 21st century Holocaust crimes against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, as well as in the West Bank and Palestine-1948. We will not forget and will not forgive the great crimes of Zionist Israel forever.

2. We demand that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) truly implement their decisions and provide sanctions for the crimes of Israel and its leaders. We urge the ICJ to immediately arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials and designate them as war criminals subject to the harshest legal sanctions.

3. We condemn the United States government as a loyal friend in the crimes of Zionist Israel, which continues to practice political hypocrisy by continuing to support Israel which clearly commits crimes and causes the distance from peace and world instability. We demand that the United States not become a sponsor and heavy supporter of Israeli terrorism, including through cunning veto maneuvers in the UN Security Council.

4. We support and urge the Indonesian Government to immediately initiate and invite other countries, especially OIC members, to send military assistance that can stop the massacre and brutal attacks by Israeli Zionists in Gaza. This is the mandate of the 1945 Constitution to eliminate colonialism on earth because it is not in accordance with humanity and justice.

5. We provide full support to students, lecturers, professors at various campuses abroad who speak up in defense of Gaza and Palestine. We also appreciate the countries that recently recognized Palestine as an independent country, as well as supporting the countries that cut diplomatic relations with Israel.
