800 olive saplings were planted in Konaklı District.
Nilüfer Municipality added a new one to its projects in the field of protecting agricultural lands, encouraging production and access to clean food. Nilüfer Municipality, which allocated the municipality’s idle lands for agricultural production, planted 800 olive saplings on 23 decares of land in Konaklı District. In addition to Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir, Nilüfer Deputy Mayors, Nilüfer Municipal Council Members, Nilüfer Agricultural Development Cooperative (NİLKOOP) President Süleyman Ayyılmaz and Konaklı Neighborhood Headman Hasan Tosun also took part in the sapling planting. Mayor Şadi Özdemir also planted olive saplings. Mayor Şadi Özdemir, who gave life to the sapling, wished the production to be fruitful.
Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir said that Bursa ranks 6th in Türkiye in olive production. Stating that Nilüfer is one of the important production centers, Mayor Şadi Özdemir said, “Olives are the symbol of both peace and abundance. 40 percent of the olives produced in Nilüfer are produced in Konaklı. We plant our olive saplings on our idle land here. In this way, we also support production.”
Stating that they will continue to produce policies that support agriculture in Nilüfer’s fertile lands, Mayor Şadi Özdemir said, “We are trying new production models. We make exemplary production. We support cooperatives. We promise to buy the products produced through this. We are also creating consumption mechanisms. We want the villagers of Nilüfer to be the masters of Nilüfer.” – BURSA
