He Chile captain for the Davis Cup, Nicolás Massúreminded those affected by the forest fires that are ravaging the Valparaíso region after the Chilean team’s 3-2 victory over Peru, which sealed its passage to the finals of the team event.
After Alejandro Tabilo’s 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Peruvian Busé at the Anita Lizana Court of the National Stadium, Massú spoke in front of the cameras and remembered those affected in the fifth region.
“I’m going to say two things. One, thank you all because you were awesome. Without your support we went through very difficult times. Your support during these days has been spectacular. The triumph is yours too,” he began by saying.
“Second and most important thing, regardless of the final result, is to dedicate this victory to the people who are having a hard time. I am from the fifth region… Viña del Mar, Valparaíso, Quilpué and all the things that have happened we have to give at least a little happiness. “We all have to go up to those people,” he concluded.
