Along with the announcement of the upcoming T20 World Cup team, the New Zealand cricket team has also unveiled the new jersey. A jersey that can make cricket lovers born in the nineties or earlier feel nostalgic. The Kiwis’ new jersey has a touch of the 1999 World Cup!
According to New Zealand Cricket’s official page ‘Blackcaps’, this jersey is inspired by the year 1999 (World Cup). That being said, 25 years later…a new chapter.
The new kit, which New Zealand Cricket revealed on social media, features a mix of traditional gray with traditional black, reminiscent of the jerseys of the early nineties.
The design is a departure from the traditional fern graphic. Instead, the Southern Cross has been highlighted as the country’s heritage. This new design has impressed the fans.
