No wonder, though. In the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) this is not impossible. But Subir Nandi’s song is not sung by AI, but by him. Because this song was recorded during his lifetime. The title of the song is ‘Sleep’. It is written by the popular lyricist Someshwar Oli. Music by Tanveer Tarek.
The music director said that he had been working on Subir Nandi’s songs for a long time. But the artist passed away before they were published. However, he wants to take the time to present the songs to the ears of the audience. Tanveer Tarek said, “Subir Da is one of the biggest inspirations in my musical career. He has always encouraged me in anything musical. One day in a chat he said to me – ‘Tanveer, you are the composer of this time. Sing some songs for me. Let’s sing.’ To me, this word of grandfather was like a great reward. After that I went to my studio to regularly compose songs for Subir Da.”
Reminiscing a little, Tanveer Tarek said, “We worked on the songs for a long time. Day after day Subir Da and I spent hours in my studio clamoring till midnight. Musicians from Dhaka and Calcutta have played in the album. Thus we complete 10 songs. I have released one of these songs on my channel. This is going to be the second song.’
Meanwhile, lyric poet Oli is a little surprised about ‘sleep’. He commented, ‘I gave two songs to Tanveer bhai a long time ago. I really don’t know when he composed this song and sang it at Subir’s request. I am surprised to hear. It was a surprise for me! I got a little excited. It seemed to bring back the grandfather with AI! I believe this unreleased track of Dada’s own voice in the tune of Tanveer Bhai will be a special gift for the audience.’
