The brand new species of snail has the medical identify Calybium plicatus sp. nov. amassed at Sinkhole 1, Son Doong cave, Phong Nha-Ke Bang Nationwide Park, Quang Binh province.

The newly came upon snail species has a smaller shell dimension, with an apical wall with six lightly spaced apical plates.
That is the primary snail species recorded as a terrestrial gastropod mollusk in Vietnam.
