In the space of ten days, the price of gold has been increased again in the country’s market. The price of best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been increased by Tk 2,650. In this, the price of one load of good quality gold has become 1 lakh 19 thousand 638 taka. The price of gold has never been so high in the country’s market.
This price has been increased in view of the increase in the price of acid gold (ripe gold) in the local market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that this price will be implemented from 7 pm on Thursday (April 18).
Earlier, on April 8, the price of one load of good quality gold was fixed at Tk 1 lakh 17 thousand 573 from that day. This broke the previous morning’s record and created a new record for the highest price of gold. A new record has been created by increasing the price in a span of 10 days.
Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee met on Thursday and decided to increase the price. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman.
It is said that the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. So considering the overall situation, Bajus has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from 7 PM on Thursday.
According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold has been increased by Tk 2,650 to Tk 1,19,638. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been increased by Tk 1,994 to Tk 1,14,202.
Besides, the price of one 18 carat gold bar has been increased by 1 thousand 656 taka to 97 thousand 884 taka. However, the traditional gold price has been reduced from Tk 1,388 to Tk 78,802.
However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold jewellery. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the price fixed by Bajus. Also, the minimum wage per shift is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay Tk 1 lakh 29 thousand 119 to buy a piece of 22 carat gold jewelery from tomorrow.
Earlier, on April 8, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was increased by Tk 1,749 to Tk 1,17,573. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been increased by Tk 1,633 to Tk 1,12,208.
Besides, the price of 18 carat gold has been increased by 1 thousand 458 taka to 96 thousand 228 taka. And the price of one load of traditional method gold was increased from 1 thousand 225 taka to 80 thousand 190 taka. Gold has been sold in the country’s market at this price till 7 pm today.
Now the price of gold is increased but the price of silver remains unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka.
