New look of Apple Watch Series 10

Gurman also revealed that one of the two Apple Watch Series 10 models, codenamed N217 and N218, will get a larger display this year. One of the two will have a display nearly as large as the one on the Apple Watch Ultra.

Previously, in a report posted on Medium, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the next generation Apple Watch screen will increase from 41 mm to 45 mm and from 45 mm to 49 mm. At the same time, this year’s Apple smartwatch model will also be designed thinner.

Besides the design and screen, Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 will also be equipped with a more powerful processor than the previous generation.

While this could lay the groundwork for some future AI improvements, Gurman says Apple currently has “no plans” to bring the full range of Apple Intelligence features to the Apple Watch.

Despite the improvements, Apple has had some hiccups in its plans for new health features. Previous reports have suggested that the Apple Watch Series 10 will add blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnea features.

However, according to Bloomberg, Apple has been working on the feature since 2023, but it has “encountered some serious glitches” since then.

Specifically, the source revealed that the blood pressure technology on the Apple Watch “was not as reliable as expected during testing.” Reliability issues could force Apple to delay the release of this feature until 2025.
