New leaders speak about opportunities for sustainable development in the region

The Good Government Seminar, which brings together new governors, mayors, councilors and deputies in the city of Santa Marta, began its third day with the intervention of the CAF representative in Colombia, Rodrigo Penailillo, who spoke about opportunities for development sustainability that CAF offers for the region.

In this Friday’s programming, there will be the intervention of Alejandro Char, elected mayor of Barranquilla, who will chair the discussion on successful experiences of Good Government. The elected governor of Cesar, Elvia Milena Sanjuan, and the elected governor of Magdalena, Rafael Martínez, will also be present.

The general director of the National Police, William Salamanca, will also speak with the new leaders about the security policies that must be worked on in the territorial entities.

The day will be closed by the president of Drummond Ltd, José Miguel Linares.

Around 200 government leaders participate, belonging to the departments of Cesar and Magdalena, and the municipalities of Agustín Codazzi, Becerril, La Jagua de Ibirico, Chiriguaná, El Paso, Bosconia, El Copey, in the department of Cesar; and the municipalities of Algarrobo, Fundación, Aracataca, Zona Bananera and Ciénaga, in Magdalena, which are part of the mining, railway and port influence areas of Drummond, are concentrated in this Seminar.

The objective is to provide them with tools that help them strengthen and develop the public management that they will carry out starting January 1 of next year, as well as strengthen the relationship with the company.

The purpose of the event is to provide tools to new leaders and elected leaders so that they can structure better management on relevant issues for their communities, associated with human rights, transparent management, policies, treasury and public finances, innovation projects, territorial development , security planning and coexistence in their areas, among others of interest.
