“New Geography” at the Kingdom Academy

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Kingdom of Morocco Academy, at five in the evening, at its headquarters in the capital, Rabat, presents its new issuance of three parts entitled “New Geography of Morocco”, which consists of 1133 pages, which is the fruit of thirty -four authorities.

The first and second parts, according to a report of the Kingdom Academy’s activity, deals with “geography of social-sphere”, while the third part deals with: “regional geography with a new vision.”

Tuesday’s meeting is organized to “highlight the content of this geographical text” and provide “an in -depth reading in this collective work”, with the participation of a group of researchers and specialized professors in geography science, including: Mohamed Brian, Idris Kharrouz and Nabeel Moulin, in the presence of the writers of the book, and a number of academic personalities and those interested in territorial and regional development.

The academy continued in the announcement of the appointment: “This meeting will be an occasion to highlight the discreet scientific contributions included in this version, whether in terms of approved theoretical approaches or in terms of analytical proposal and the systematic transformation that it reflects in the approach of field issues, social transformations, and the problems of reconstruction and development in contemporary Morocco.”

“During this meeting, the indications of this multi -dimensional knowledge project will be discussed, which seeks to renew the perception of geography not only as the flag of maps, but as a tool for analyzing societal structures and its spatial interactions, and directing public policies towards a more accurate understanding of the Moroccan field in its diversity and complexity,” according to the same source.

It should be noted that the work of the “new geography of Morocco” issued in three parts supervised by the Kingdom of Morocco Academy, “in the context of its continuous interest in producing high scientific knowledge, enhancing the dialogue between the majors, and contributes to directing the public decision based on the scientific data and discreet analysis.”
