New fraud in Ioannina with an elderly victim

After an investigation carried out by the Ioannina Security Sub-Directorate, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department of the Epirus General Regional Police Directorate, the details of a foreigner, who was involved in a telephone fraud case, which took place on 04-07-2024 in Ioannina, were identified .

In particular, as it emerged, an unknown accomplice of the defendant called an elderly woman and, under the pretense of being a hospital doctor, convinced her to hand over a sum of 22,000 euros to cover her daughter’s hospitalization expenses, after an accident she had allegedly suffered inside her home. .

The above amount of money was received from the elderly woman’s house by the accused, as a messenger of the alleged doctor.

The case filed against the foreigner was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance of Ioannina.
