Irritation, tearfulness, increased anxiety, feeling of lack of strength, fatigue, headache – these and many other unpleasant manifestations can be a precursor to a disorder such as neurosis in the modern world.

Publika.az reports that the main causes of neurosis are a long-term stressful situation or severe psychotrauma. In the modern world with high pace of life, a lot of information and strict demands, it is becoming increasingly difficult for a person to adapt to new conditions.

Constant tension, working at the peak of capabilities weakens the nervous system, causes disruption of biological rhythms, and a person is literally on the verge of a nervous breakdown. In such a situation, stress stimulates the development of various forms of neurosis.

In medicine, neurosis is divided into the following types;

– Neurasthenia is the most common form. At the same time, there is an increase in emotional and mental exhaustion, deterioration of activity, sleep disturbance, irritability, decreased sexual function, etc. is noted. This type of neurosis is more common in adults.

– Obsessive neurosis. It is accompanied by obsessive thoughts, fears (phobias), actions. An example of this is claustrophobia (fear of closed spaces) or its opposite, agoraphobia (fear of open spaces). Often, this form of disorder turns into a chronic neurosis.

– Hysterical neurosis (hysteria). This form of disorder mainly occurs in people with obvious hysterical (demonstration) character traits. Also, this type of neurosis is often observed in teenagers. Symptoms of hysterical neurosis can combine the manifestations of various somatic diseases.

– Hypochondriacal neurosis – the increased concern about a person’s physical health, the fear of getting sick with an incurable serious disease.

The following symptoms are characteristic of all types of neurosis:

vegetative – pallor of the face, palpitations, feeling of lack of air, etc.;

emotional – irritation, tears, touching, etc.;

somatic – crawling, fatigue, pain in different parts of the body, etc.;

neurological – insomnia or vice versa, drowsiness, depression or vice versa, hyperexcitability, asthenia.
