Netflix will stop working on older Apple TVs on July 31

MADRID, (Portaltic/EP) – Netflix will no longer be compatible with older Apple TV devices in August, after it withdraws support on July 31, as it has already begun to notify users.

The streaming movie and series platform can be used on an Apple TV device, which allows the content played on an iPhone to be broadcast on a television to be viewed on a larger screen.

Currently, Netflix supports this device from the second generation Apple TV to the most recent, third generation Apple TV 4k Ultra HD. However, starting July 31, it will withdraw support for older models.

In a note published in its Help Center, in the section ‘How to use Netflix on your Apple TV’, the company points out that second and third generation Apple TVs will no longer be compatible with the service. This information has also been transmitted to users with an email.

These devices hit the market in 2010 and 2012, respectively, and support 720p HD resolution for the second generation and 1,080p HD resolution for the third, and offer features such as subtitles, alternative audio, and 5.1 surround sound.
