“I thank our friends for their support in the defense of Israel and all their advice. But I want to be clear: we will make our decisions ourselves. The State of Israel will do everything necessary to defend itself,” he said.

“I also had a telephone conversation last night with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and I will speak with other leaders soon,” Netanyahu said.
Regarding this phone call, a spokesperson for Downing Street, the office of the head of the United Kingdom Government, explained that Sunak reiterated his “firm support” to Netanyahubut at the same time he stressed that “a major escalation is not in anyone’s interest and would only deepen insecurity in the Middle East.”
The international community hopes that Tel Aviv’s response against Tehran does not aggravate the conflict in a region already marked by the devastating war in Gaza and with a daily exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah on the country’s northern border.
