The fountain of runs has been flowing since the start of this season of IPL. Highest (277) and second highest (272) runs in IPL history. But unfortunately the century was not met.
Finally came the century in the 19th match of IPL. Not one, but two in the same match. Virat Kohli scored the first century. Jos Buttler’s century eclipsed India’s best batsman’s century. Butler’s Rajasthan Royals beat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets.
Batting first at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Bengaluru collected 183 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, relying on Virat Kohli’s 72-ball 113 runs. Faf du Plessis scored 44 runs. No one else could run. Even if Kohli scored a century, it was at Khruche. He played 72 balls alone. Hit 4 sixes with 12 boundaries.
In reply, Josswi Jaiswal was dismissed without a run in 2 balls, but Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson put on a partnership of 148 runs. Samson got out with 69 runs from 42 balls but Jos Buttler remained unbeaten with a century from 58 balls. He hit Cameron Greene for a six off the first ball of the 20th over to give the team victory and also complete his century. Buttler hit 4 sixes with 9 boundaries.
With this, Rajasthan Royals are at the top of all with 8 points after winning all 4 matches. Royal Challengers Bangalore have won only 1 out of 5 matches. Their position is 8.
