Nasdem Party’s Third Congress Momentum for Reconciliation

JAKARTA – A number of figures were invited to the 3rd Nasdem Party Congress on August 25-27, 2024 at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta. The figures include President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to President-elect 2024-2029 Prabowo Subianto.

“This congress is the common ground, so it is possible that Mr. Prabowo will also attend the opening and closing, but formally the opening will be by President Jokowi and the closing will be by Mr. Prabowo as the President-elect,” said Chairman of the SC for the 3rd Nasdem Congress, Willy Aditya, in a press conference at the Nasdem Tower, Friday (23/8/2024).

He revealed that all political parties were also invited to the third congress of the NasDem Party. Because, this Nasdem congress is a momentum for the Nasdem Party’s reconciliation.

“There is no one we do not invite, so we invite all political parties, because this is the momentum for reconciliation. Not only sweet on the lips but bitter in reality, no. However, we build togetherness from a space where there is common ground,” said Willy.

Later, there will be three commissions in the implementation of the 3rd Nasdem Congress, namely the AD/ART Commission, the Recommendation Commission, and the Action Program Commission. He continued, there will also be five major issues that will be highlighted in depth, including the issue of the rule of law, green economy, politics, international issues, and environmental crisis.

Nasdem assessed that there are many things that need to be straightened out in law enforcement in Indonesia. “So how do law enforcement officers, the KPK, the police, the prosecutors, we remain committed. How do we, which was discussed a lot in the SC about later being finalized in the congress, there was a case 15 years ago, suddenly it was only taken today. How is this expired?” said Willy.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) of the Nasdem Congress Ali Mazi said that he also presented an UMKM exhibition at the congress. The UMKM exhibition consisted of clothing products to typical Indonesian food.

“As a nation, we love Indonesian products. We have provided them for UMKM exhibitions throughout Indonesia. Well, maybe one example of the products we bring is the clothes I am wearing now. This is also one of our Indonesian products, we must love Indonesian products,” said Ali Mazi.

He said, the 3rd Congress of the NasDem Party will also be attended by tens of thousands of Nasdem cadres. All of them will later be asked to formulate a number of goals to conduct the election of the general chairman of the Nasdem Party.

“Then, it is also a matter of gratitude that the Third Congress of the National Party today was attended by approximately 10,000 National Party cadres consisting of 7,000 participants from all over Indonesia and 3,000 observers,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Nasdem Party Secretary General Hermawi Taslim said that Anies Baswedan was also invited to attend the congress. “Mr. Anies was invited,” Hermawi said briefly.
