Moroccan director Jamila Benaissa El Borji is waiting for her share of television programming to air her new series “Nas El Mellah,” which she finished filming more than a year ago and is expected to be broadcast on Channel 2.
According to the information obtained by Hespress, the new series by Barji was filmed between the cities of Casablanca and Essaouira and the surrounding areas over the course of months, and has recently entered the packaging and final touches phase to be ready for screening.
In her new television work, the Moroccan director sheds light on stories related to the return of Moroccan Jews to the “mellah” neighborhoods in a number of Moroccan cities, after years of immigration outside the country.
The series tells the story of how Jewish immigrants of Moroccan origin decided to return to their home country, which they left in the 1950s, in order to meet their grandparents and families. It also highlights a group of human situations that show the depth of Moroccan family and social ties, which are not without conflicts and quarrels.
The series “Nas El Mellah” consists of 15 episodes, each lasting 52 minutes, and features the participation of a group of Moroccan drama stars, led by the actor Abdelhak Belmajed, Rabie El Kati, Hoda Sedki, Mansour Badri, Mohsen Malzi, Sarah Fares, Amal El Tammar, Nariman Seddad, Saad Allah Abdel Majeed, El Siddik Mekwar, Ziad Idrissi, Samira Hechika, Ayoub El Hanish and others.
The participants in the new series of Barji began promoting and advertising it and their roles, through their official pages on social media, while sharing some behind-the-scenes footage of their scenes with their followers in order to excite them to follow it.
