The family of the former mayor of Bucaramanga, Rodolfo Hernandez, has experienced days of great shock after the death of the former presidential candidate was confirmed on September 1.

In addition, in less than 48 hours, the family also suffered the death of Narco José, the dog of the engineer from Santander who accompanied him for almost 14 years.

Hernández had been hospitalized in a clinic in Piedecuesta, Santander, for the last month due to complications arising from the colon cancer, diagnosed in 2022, which ultimately caused his death.

Now, after his death, new news has shocked his followers: the death of his dog Narco José, who accompanied the Hernández family for more than a decade.

The canine was indispensable both in personal moments and in the political life of the former presidential candidate.

José was present at several important moments in the politician’s life, including during his mayoralty in Bucaramanga and in the intense presidential campaign in which Hernández lost against the current president Gustavo Petro.

According to comments from those close to him, the two shared a special connection, and it was speculated that the canine would not last long without Rodolfo.

Although the dog was 14 years old, relatives said he was in good health, although he had not been able to see Hernandez in recent months due to his hospitalization, which would have contributed to the deterioration of his health.

In addition, the dog had his own Instagram account, where he had more than 1,495 followers who accompanied him on his adventures, walks and most iconic moments.
