Nanny Loses Children Twice While Out Walking

In preschool educational institution No. 30 in Bishkek, children were lost twice during a walk in a month. The editorial board reported this Kaktus.media The mother of one of the lost children said, Liter.kz reports.

According to the mother, her three-year-old son and another four-year-old boy from his group left the kindergarten alone twice. Both times, the children were found safe and sound. But the parents believe that these are not the first such incidents in the kindergarten.

“The children somehow got out of the gate during a walk. The group’s teacher was on vacation, and a nanny was looking after the children. The kindergarten grounds are fenced off, and the only entrance and exit are the gates. There should be a security guard there, but he is on vacation. We were told that there is no funding to replace the guard at this time,” says the boy’s mother, Kanykei. The worst thing is that after the children were discovered missing, neither the parents nor the police were informed.

After the children went missing, the staff tried to find them on their own. First they searched the area, and then they began to walk around the district.

“My son found his way home, somehow opened the intercom and went up to the apartment where his grandmother was. She took him home and told us,” the woman added.

The second boy was left on the street and was found by kindergarten staff near the home of another child.

“After learning about what happened, I went home to make sure my son was okay. And my husband went to the kindergarten to find out the circumstances and called the police,” Kanykei said.

The duty inspector arrived at the call, but, according to the boy’s parents, he did not take any measures against Preschool Educational Institution No. 30. The parents themselves had to talk to the kindergarten management about the children’s future safety. They claim that the institution’s administration promised to strengthen security. But after 15 working days, the situation repeated itself.

According to the parent, the guard was already at the kindergarten the second time. But he did not notice how the children left the gate.

“We looked at the CCTV footage from the store they went into. So, the kindergarten told us that the children got lost at about 10:20, and they went into the store at 11:00. It turns out that the children, who are three and four years old, walked alone on the street for 40 minutes. We have a very calm child. But even such a calm child needs to be watched. And while the children are in the kindergarten, it is the responsibility of the kindergarten,” the parent is indignant.

The editorial staff of Kaktus.media contacted the director of preschool educational institution No. 30. She confirmed that such an incident took place and added that she would comment on what happened when she returns from sick leave.
