The Angolan oil company, Sonangol EP, carried out this Monday (21), the inauguration of a pier bridge in the province of Namibe, which for the first time has a structure of this caliber.
According to a note that Notícias de Angola had access to, this structure will facilitate the operation of infrastructure for unloading gasoline, diesel, Jet-A1 and LPG ships for the Namibe Ocean Terminal. enabling the dismantling and transfer of the bitumen line from the Mineraleiro port bridge to the pier bridge of the same terminal.
This is a project costing six million 923 thousand and 900 dollars, built in nine months, with a maximum capacity of seven thousand tons per dead weight.
This pier bridge is expected to provide greater operational security, reduce reception costs, increase the stock rotation of petroleum derivatives distributed in the region and revitalize the Sacomar area.
The construction of this structure is part of Sonangol’s efforts to increase
volume of fuel made available in the province of Namibe and throughout the southern part of the country.
