She chose writing as a hobby, and was able to become the youngest writer to sign her novel at the book fair held in Rabat a few weeks ago, based on a novel entitled “A Journey of Hope Through Time,” and she had previously written many thoughts and short stories. She is Nahila Al-Obaidi, 17 years old, the youngest member of the Moroccan Youth Parliament. She began writing when she was studying in primary school, and her experience was writing short stories, before she was able to complete her first novel, “A Journey of Hope Through Time.”
Al-Obaidi said in a statement to Hespress: “I began my writing journey on the path of reading, which paved the way for me, where springs of inspiration and ideas emerged. I study books of literature in its various fields, and enjoy the journey of letters and ideas. It carries me to distant worlds and past times, paints for me pictures of beauty and depth, and whispers in my ears the secrets of existence and life.”
The young novelist continued: “Reading is the faithful guide that taught me the paths of eloquence and creativity. In the writings of others, I found my stories, and in their thoughts, I found my inspiration and my path, and thus I embarked on my writing journey.”
Al-Obaidi also spoke about the role of her parents, saying: “My parents had a big role. When I was young, they used to buy me stories and advise me to read them, until I developed a passion and love for reading. When I grew up and began to chart my creative path, they were my support and companions in all my meetings, especially my mother, who accompanied me.” She still goes to all the meetings I attend, as she is my superhero. Thanks to her support, I learned that the impossible does not exist, and that everything is possible.”
Al-Obaidi is the youngest participant in the third session of the “Podcast” training program, organized by the Arab Youth Center, in partnership with the Sky News Arabia Academy. She is also involved in several platforms and forums
And national and international associations concerned with reading and books (the youngest member of the Reading Bridges Association, the youngest member of the Safari Reading Club, a member of the Morocco Reading Network, a member of the Supreme Council for the Voice of the Arab Child, as well as in several academies and associations…); She is also the youngest writer in Al-Raed Cultural Magazine and Al-Raed Children’s Press.
She is a young girl with great ambitions, and she said in this context: “My ambitions are to chart a path for myself in the world of Moroccan and international literature, why not, in which I explore the path of beautiful words and bright thought, to be a distinguished writer who leaves her mark in the memory of literature.” I strive for my words to reach like sweet breezes, touching the hearts of readers and singing within them the melodies of truth.”
The spokeswoman added: “I also care a lot about children’s issues and rights, and I hope to become an ambassador for childhood, goodwill and peace, for children’s and human rights in general, towards a better society.”
