Nador Beach embraces “Seas of Poetry”

In coordination with the Regional Directorate of Culture in the Oriental Region, the House of Poetry in Tetouan is organizing the sixth session of the Buhur Al-Shi’r Forum, on August 29, 30 and 31, 2024, on the beach of the city of Nador. This session will honor the Moroccan poet Said Aqoudad, with the organization of a night of Amazigh poetry, a night of Arabic poetry, in addition to an open meeting with the honored poet, as well as workshops and musical performances.

The Poetry Seas activities will start on Nador Beach with poetry and art workshops on Thursday, August 29, starting at 6 pm, supervised by the visual artist Hafiz Al-Khadiri, while the opening ceremony will witness the honoring of the poet Said Aqoudad.

The opening ceremony will also witness the organization of the Amazigh Poetry Night, with the participation of poet Noura Aarab, poet Abdel Rahim Fawzi, and poet Hayat Bouterfas. The opening ceremony will be enlivened by the “Azghanghan Band”.

At 7 pm on Friday, August 30, the poetry seas will witness the organization of the “Night of Arabic Poetry” with the participation of poet Jamal Azraghid, poet Yassin Baabslam, poet Zalfa Ashhaboun, and poet Imad Oufkir, accompanied by guitarist and artist Mohamed Al-Saidi. The meeting will also witness the signing of the poetry collection “As if I am going to war” by Jamal Azraghid, and the poetry collection “I will sing to my masters” by Yassin Baabslam, which recently won first place in the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity.

On Saturday, August 31, the poetry and art workshops will conclude, with prizes distributed to the participants, in addition to an open meeting with the poet Said Aqoudad, while the “Tomat Vision” band will hold the closing ceremony of this session of the “Bhours of Poetry” Forum, an annual forum held during the summer on one of the Moroccan beaches. Its previous sessions were held in Oued Laou, Mdiq, Larache, Fnideq and Saïdia, with the attendance of a number of Moroccan poets and writers, and poets and writers from Moroccans around the world.
