Farel Tarek, a content creator who often discusses unique myths, presents an interesting exploration in Yogyakarta. This time, Farel visited Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, a historical destination founded by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I in 1755. Farel said that this palace is one of the largest in Yogyakarta and is full of mystical stories.
One of the myths that Farel tried to prove was passing through the twin banyan trees in Alun-Alun Selatan, where it is believed that only people with a clean heart can pass through it with their eyes closed. Although Farel was sure he could pass through the tree, in fact he failed and even became the subject of laughter for the mothers around him.
In his content, Farel also explained that visitors to the Palace are not allowed to wear batik clothes with Garuda motifs that can only be worn by the sultan. Uniquely, Farel chose to wear the Indonesian national team jersey, which added a funny and relaxed impression to his content.
After touring the palace, Farel moved on to Taman Sari, a historical place famous for its ponds and fountains that symbolize spiritual life. Farel revealed that under Taman Sari there is a tunnel called Sumur Gumuling, which is said to be the meeting place of the Sultan of Yogyakarta with Nyi Roro Kidul.
Not only focusing on myths, Farel also visited Malioboro Street, and revealed the origin of its name which comes from the Sanskrit word “Malyabhara” and the English word “Marlborough.”
Farel stayed at one of the hostels in Jogja, namely Hubs Hostel which is recommended as an affordable accommodation option for tourists, with prices starting from IDR 100,000. The affordable price is perfect for travelers who want to save on travel costs.
In addition, this hostel also offers a warm social atmosphere, making it easy for guests to meet and interact with tourists from various countries. Despite its economical price, Hubs Hostel still provides complete facilities for the comfort of its guests.
