My parents are my team in the South Sulawesi gubernatorial election

JAKARTA – Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) revealed that he does not have a special relationship with dangdut singers Nayunda Nabila Nizrinah . The kindness towards Nayunda was a return of gratitude because her parents were part of SYL’s successful team when they were elected for two terms as Governor of South Sulawesi.

“My parents (Nayunda) and I are very close. He was treasurer when I was Chairman of Golkar South Sulawesi. He, his mother and his father were on my team for two terms (Governor of South Sulawesi). I feel indebted, by Allah,” said SYL in response Nayunda’s statement in the Central Jakarta Corruption Court courtroom, Wednesday (29/5/2024).

SYL explained that Nayunda’s payment of tens of millions was given deliberately because she had received a complaint from Nayunda’s parents. When Nayunda’s parents complained about the fees Nayunda received when she became a dangdut singer.

“That’s why when Nayunda sings, she always gets a small salary (her mother’s story), while you (SYL) are already a minister,” said SYL.

“As a figure, I respect the Bugis, Makasaar people. I felt devastated, and I said just add it. The same thing to Kasdi, always paying 20-15 million (Rupiah) even though he has a standard of 35 million (Rupiah). That’s what he wants I say, hopefully there will be no misperceptions,” he said.

SYL claims he helped pay the installments for Nayunda’s apartment because it was about to be confiscated. Then, SYL, as a Bugis person, admitted that he could not bear to hear the news.

“Anyone from Makassar Bugis who asks for help as long as I can, I will do it, Your Majesty. I apologize if this is too much,” said SYL.
