In the meantime, he has given all such creations in his lifetime, which are a wonder for the whole country. He holds the unique record of composing the most songs in the history of the country. The most successful songs also came from his pen. The legendary lyricist’s name is Gazi Mazharul Anwar.
Even though he is gone, the songs he left are still in people’s hearts. And the story behind those songs is coming up on the pages of the book on the initiative of his family. This time, the fourth volume of this book titled ‘Alp Katha Kahar Gaan’ (Bhashachitra Prakashani) has been published. The book was officially unveiled at Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Tuesday (February 20) evening.
Also, his wife Zohra Gazi wrote a book about Gazi Mazharul Anwar from the experience of long married life spent with him. The cover of the book titled ‘Living with Fire’ (Journeyman Books) was also unveiled at the same event.
Many legends appeared in this event surrounded by the stars of the music industry. There were timeless stars like Syed Abdul Hadi, Mohammad Rafiquzzaman, Sheikh Sadi Khan, Khurshid Alam.

Musician Khurshid Alam said, ‘I feel blessed to come to such a beautiful event. Gazi Bhai’s creation is no less than Bombay or Calcutta. But today I would like to make a request to the new generation, the elders whose songs you sing, mention the name of the lyricist, composer and artist of each song.’

But today is a strange thing, everyone is listening with great attention and sincerity. This event is a joy. But at the same time there is some pain. I remember that Gazi and I came to this stage for an event a few years ago. What did I know then, after a few days I will have to speak but Gazi will not be there! Shubhra Dev, Fahmida Nabi, Monir Khan, Imon Saha, Shawkat Ali Imon, Palash, Alam Ara Minu, Ankhi Alamgir, Kaushik Hossain Tapas, Kabisantan Dithi-Upal and many others were also present at the unveiling ceremony.
