The PP regulates the issue of education and reproductive health services for school-age and adolescents. However, the article that has caused controversy is Article 103 concerning efforts for the reproductive health system of school-age and adolescents, especially Paragraph (4) point “e”, namely the provision of contraceptives.
The Vice President also requested that the provision of contraceptives be consulted with religious institutions. So, this is not only seen from the health aspect but also from the religious aspect.
“Nowadays, there are various controversies. I suggest listening and consulting with religious institutions, not only looking at the health aspect, but also the religious aspect,” said the Vice President to the media crew after visiting the Ku Gerabah Timbul Raharjo Kasongan Museum, Yogyakarta, Wednesday (7/8/2024).
The Vice President also emphasized that if there are differences of opinion or conflicts of opinion, it will be counterproductive in society.
“Because if later there is a difference of opinion, there is a conflict of opinion, then it will be counterproductive,” he explained.
Therefore, the Vice President requested that the implementation of the regulation be studied in depth and negotiated with various parties to avoid clashes.
“So I ask that it be studied, discussed and listened to so that later we can determine how to implement it so that there are no clashes,” he concluded.
