A Dutch court has sentenced the accused to 28 years in prison for murdering a crime reporter. Three years ago, renowned crime reporter Peter RD Vries was murdered.
The man who directly shot Peter RD Vries and another key accomplice has been sentenced to 28 years in prison. Another person involved in the murder was sentenced to 26 years in prison.

64-year-old Peter R. de Vries died nine days after the shooting. The people of the Netherlands were shocked after this incident. Questions were also raised about the law and order situation.
Dutch King Willem-Alexander de Vries called the shooting an attack on journalism, the constitutional state and the rule of law.
Several other accused in connection with the murder have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. However, the names of the accused have not been released due to Dutch confidentiality policies.
